The other day I was filling in an application for a science project at my school and one of the questions I was asked was what my hobbies are. Some of them popped up easily such as piano or volleyball, but that made me think that blogging is a hobby that I do also have and that I really enjoy. A hobby that sometimes I forget to mix up with other things I love, like technology, art or learning. You know, sometimes I get stuck talking about traveling and Barcelona that I forget there is much more I could do. That is why, in this next postI will be sharing my little ways to keep discovering this passionating subject known as SCIENCE.
1 Science Museums.
Probably the most classical obvious one, but also the most entertaining (usually). Whenever I travel to a new city, checking out the local Science museum is a must, you can't imagine how different they get to be one from another! I remember seeing little chickens be born in Valencia or sitting in a huge chair at Boston. And as for Barcelona, we do also have one, up in the hill! Don't miss it if you feel like discovering some awesome things when visiting the city.
2 Ted Education.
At this point, I guess everybody on Earth has already heart about TED Talks... but did you know about TED Education too? Being as good as its counterpart, the TED Education is a platform inside the company where they create a great deal of videos related to almost everything such as science, technology, art, psychology... so check them out and don't forget their motto: 'Lessons Worth Spreading'.
3 Youtube Channels.
I have already said this like a million times I think, but you can learn so many awesome things from the Internet! There are Online Academies like Khan Academy (an incredible one by the way) or Youtube Channels from the ones you can learn so so so many things: from math, to chemistry to discovering the entire universe! And in such an easy way (just grab you tablet and listen)! If I were you, I would be giving a look to Crash Course and Asap Science right now!
4 Magazines.
The traditional media, or maybe not so much. Nowadays you can buy it, or, if you prefer, you can discover everything you want from the comfort of your sofa and a computer! Visit National Geographic, Popular Science, Science Magazine, Discover Magazine and even the New York Times has its 'Science of Us'. A whole fascinating range of little corners through the Internet.
BONUS.
How to charge your phone with some fruit.
This is a cool scientific experiment that my Physics teacher showed me. I just think that is pretty impressing.
...
Do you know any science fact that could blow our minds?
....
Sincerely,
Vera.
