Some don't understand art, some fall in love with it, some don't like it and some others do undeniably adore it although having no idea about it. That is the group I belong to. I have never been able to fully comprehend art history or any art piece, but I still try and I still enjoy visiting museums, exploring what artists created a long (and not-so-long) ago. But, as basically everything, there is an art that stands out for me. The one I found the most interesting: Impressionism.
Musée d'Orsay - Paris.
Oh, the Impressionist Museum by excellence. Found in the heart of Paris, Musée d'Orsay is a stunningly old train station transformed into a beautiful exhibition of contemporary art. And it has an overwhelming collection of chefs-d'œuvre (masterpieces), has the French would say, including the best of Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, Degas and much more.

National Gallery - London.
Besides being one of the most distinguished museums in the United Kingdom, London's National Gallery is also home for some of the most brilliant art works through history, such as Van Gogh's Sunflowers or Monet's Bathers at La Grenouillère. However, the gallery isn't narrow-minded so you should really check out all the other masterpieces as from the best of Turner or Jan Van Eyck. And by the way, if you aren't already convinced by its greatness, just letting you know that entrance is free!

Museum of Fine Arts -Boston.
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston does certainly has an insanely huge amount of art pieces, more than 450.000, but the Impressionists were able to assure their place in there. And it is not small at all. It features Monet, Manet, Renoir... and much more, while also holding some contemporary exhibitions quite frequently.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - New York.
Oh, New York New York. This city does almost has it all, doesn't it? And Impressionist art is surely amongst them. The one and only Met Museum is where you'll be able to find exactly 37 art works from this colorful movement, where they have some of the best Renoir's, Cassat's, Pissarro's and Sisley's in the world. Who would not give them a visit if they ever get the opportunity?

Hermitage Museum - St. Petersburg.
The State Hermitage is a sincerely enormous collection, over 3 million art works! But, as always, the Impressionism has its place inside the gallery, featuring gorgeous Renoir's and Monet's. Quite a change from the other Russian art! And surely a must-visit.

J. Paul Getty Museum - Los Angeles.
While being one of the most interesting collections in the United States, the J. Paul Getty Museum has in its lines some worldwide known Impressionism masterpieces such as Manet’s The Rue Monsier With Flags or Van Gogh's Irises or Monet's Sunrise. Quite a nice getaway from Malibu beaches, don't you think?

The Barnes Foundation - Philadelphia.
Albert C. Barnes, as some of us, couldn't help but falling in love with Impressionist Art, so that's why he decided to establish his own collection of this beautiful movement. Nowadays, almost a century later, the Barnes Foundation is a staggering gallery placed in Philadelphia. As a foundation truly devoted for the Impressionism and including some of its greatest masterpieces, i can only say that truly truly worth it paying it a visit.

National Museum of Western Art - Tokyo.
Most people would expect that Impressionism Museums are located in France, even all around Europe and North America, but surprisingly enough, Tokyo does also have room for it. The National Museum of Western Art does have some stunning works arts like Monet's Waterlilies or more Renoir's and Van Gogh's and Gauguin's... or more and more and more.
