1/6/2015

Wise Men or Three Magic Kings
It is 6th of January and today most of the families around Spain will be opening their presents from the Three Magic (also known as Wise) Kings. I found them in the street and couldn't help but asking them a few questions to let the Internet World know who they are.
To introduce you a little... what you should basically know is that the Wise Men are based in the biblical characters of the Magic kings who brought presents to the child following a start. There are three: Melchor (the oldest one, with a long beard and white hair), Gaspar (the youngest and blond.-haired) and Baltasar (he is black race and the middle one). So, let's go!

Berta Garriga Confesses About eating Disorders

11/1/2014

Berta is one of those persons who at the very first second you have met her, you know she is full of life and passion. You see a bright smile and a head right up. Anyway, sometimes we forget how hard some of them have worked along their way... I perfectly remember the day she explained everything. When she opened to us. I could see it wasn't easy, she is still fighting for it. But, one thing was for sure: I never saw her showing a single sign of regret, not even once. Maybe she feels it, maybe not, but whatever happens, I know she'll keep fighting and learning from her mistakes.
When I was thinking who could be my next interview, her name quickly popped up in my mind. I haven't seen her for a while, but I knew that wherever she was, she would be pleased to be able to help others who might be going through similar (or even completely) different problems. I didn't doubt to head to open my email account and send her some questions. (I think) she was excited, and so I was. She as a fellow blogger, we could imagine a great future embracing our blogs. Here is the result of my wonderings and her answers:

My name and My Dream.

This time, I'm expelling things out of myself (oh I know, finally Vera!) to bring them into other people. Sometimes we have known are friends for so long, but there are still many things we don't know about them, yet. Sometimes, all it takes is to ask them. And that's what I did!
I enquired some of my closest friends to write down in a piece of paper what do they truly love and what their dream is. One by one, I explained what it all was about and asked if they would mind doing it. Just to know a little more about them. I was truly curious to discover what their answers would be. It was my little experiment. Actually, I did get some really interesting answers. Curious about it? I know, but don't worry. You can see the result right over here:
My name is Laura and I love writing.
My dream is that, someday, humans will appreciate our lives so much that we won't dare to destroy them.

A few weeks ago I had the incredible opportunity to get inside one of the top research lab in the world investigating for the AIDS disease, IrsiCaixa. Accompanied by the wonderful PhD Doctor Bea Mothe (also known as my cousin), I discovered the latest news in the research and explored their laboratories and workspace. She explained to me what is and what does this illness do, what they are investigating for and how is it like to be a medical researcher.
This first part is devoted to the illness general knowledge and awareness of the HIV, and next one will be about her research and how it's like to be an investigator.
