Once I was in Argentina for Christmas... and I had an incredible time there. It meant riding horses in the middle of nowhere, meeting my family from across the ocean and celebrating new traditions. But there was one place that definitely showed us how special this country is: the Nibepo Aike. It is called an "estancia", an Argentinian word which defines -more or less- as a rural house. Therefore, it is a little hotel hidden among the mountains of El Calafate, Southern Argentina, and probably one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been to. Regardless of our short time spent there, only one night, it was enough to realize how outstanding and unique this experience was.
THE PLACE.
What could I say that you cannot see in pictures? Outside, the surroundings are stunningly beautiful. It is encircled by mountains and the Roca Lake, and for me, it's the right definition for a frozen paradise, a hidden place near the cold park of the Glaciers. Then, inside, the 'estancia' itself proofs to be one of the most unique settings anyone could ever find. With simply but cozy and nice rooms and the feeling of rural life, an atmosphere of tranquility and peacefulness is created. It's a wonderful place to please yourself with a book next to the fire or just staring across the window.

ACTIVITIES.
There are just so many things we could have done there, from horse riding to reading next to the fire, but unfortunately, we could only stay for one night. Besides the possibility to wander around the beautiful and rich area of Patagonia (including the famous National Park of Perito Moreno), the hotel offers a great range of options for you to choose what best fits your needs. There are various trails to do both by foot, by bike and by horse, some easy ones for beginners and advanced for who is looking for more. There is also a tour to see how a day is in such remote places like this one and experience rural life, and it even includes a demonstration of sheep shearing.

THE PEOPLE.
They were there, always with a big smile, to help you sort out anything you might need. On our only night there we had two super nice girls -even one form the USA who pulled off a surprisingly good Spanish- who kindly showed us everything and attended all our needs. And, not only the staff was incredibly pleasant, but also the other guests helped to create a friendly ambience. We talked to a few of them, as we all shared the living room with the fire.

THOUGHTS.
This place is absolutely unique and I would go back there in a blink of an eye if I was offered to. The landscapes, as you can see through the pictures, are stunning and breath-taking and the hotel and all the activities are incredibly fun. I' pretty sure there is no place like this one in the entire world. As for me, I had an amazing two-days with my family, so endless thankfulness to everyone involved to make you enjoy a delightful time. If you ever are around the south of Argentina, make sure you check it out, because this is surely the most perfect place to go away, relax and disconnect from everything.
